Dom Botte, explanation for the formula from Apostolic Tradition

Thursday, March 31st, 2011

I didn’t see how we could make a coherent whole out of the two badly matched parts of the formula. Should we create a new prayer from start to finish? I felt myself incapable of this. It’s true that some amatuers could be found who would be willing to attempt it– some people feel they have a special charism for composing liturgical formulas– but I don’t trust these amatuers. Wouldn’t it be more reasonable to seek a formula in the Eastern rites led my attention to a text I knew well, the prayer in the Apostolic Tradition of St. Hippolytus.

The first time I proposed this to my collegues they looked at me in disbelief. They found Hippolytus’ formula to be excellent, but they didn’t believe it had the slightest chance of being accepted. I told them that I perhaps had a way of getting it accepted. If I was paying attention to this text it wasn’t because my study of the Eastern rites made me notice that the formula always survived under more evolved forms. Thus, in the Syrian Rite the prayer for the patriarch’s ordination was none other than the one in the Testamentum Domini, a reworking of the Apostolic Tradition can be found everywhere. Reusing the old text in the Roman Rite would affirm a unity of outlook between East and West on the episcopacy. This was an ecumenical argument. It was decisive.

I had provided the fathers with a synoptic table of the different texts with a brief commentary. The discussion was lively, and I understand why. What finally obtained a favorable vote was, I think, Pere Lecuyer’s intervention. He had published in the Nouvelle Revue Theologique a short article showing how the text of the Apostolic Tradition agreed with the teaching of the ancient Fathers. During the session, when it was time to vote on this issue, he made a plea which convinced those were wavering. Afterward we invited him to join our work group, and he was a great help to us by his theological competence and knowledge of the Fathers.

75% decrease of Catholicism

Seventy – Five Per Cent
Vort-2011-03-25

Hello everyone .. and welcome to the Vortex .. where lies and falsehoods are trapped and exposed .. I’m Michael Voris.

One of the great lies or self-delusions, take your pick, of the modernist heretical liberal stupid progressive anti-Church crowd has been “well, even though many Catholics leave the Church in their early years, they come back when they get married and have kids.”

Like everything else that issues forth from that camp of dissenters .. this canard is being exposed for what it is as well – a load of rubbish.

Every time progressives in the church – clergy as well as laity – open their mouths .. you’d think everything was wonderful. Until of course, the actual PROOF comes rolling in .. in terms of real numbers that actually reveal the extent of the destruction their idiotic theologies.

Rhode Island for example has witnessed a .. hold on to your wedding rings .. a 71 percent drop in Catholic weddings in the past 40 years. 71 percent. That compares to a drop of just 17 percent for marriages overall in the state in the same time period.

That is church sponsored suicide and it comes to you straight from the delusional crowd of liberal heretics and their feel good preaching of save the earth .. social justice .. applause in Mass .. NICE .. non judgmental Catechism which totally ignores the reality.

Hello, McFLy!

You’re killing yourselves and taking loads of souls with you.

This is just one more example of the result of decades of watering down the faith .. failing to preach it the way it needs to be preached.

Here’s a challenge to all those modernist Catholic leaders out there .. and this includes bishops and priests at whose feet the majority of blame for this disaster lies .. name me ONE just one area in the life of the Church that has benefitted from your absurdity.

You can pick any area you like.

Take the the liturgy for example. Oops might want to avoid that one – 75% of Catholics don’t go anymore.

Well there’s always the shining gem of Catholic education – oops again. Lots of closings going on and a nearly 75% reduction in enrollment sine the Church of liberal took charge.

And as far as higher institutions of learning .. well .. that’s another area you might not want to bring up.

So let’s see .. hmm .. what other areas could you put forth as an example of how well you’re bastardized Catholicism has done.

How about the sacramental life? Confession might make a nice case study for you. Oh drats. Foiled again. Less than a quarter actually go. Which of course means 75 percent don’t!

Well belief in the Real Presence is booming .. oh wait .. I read that wrong .. 70 per cent do NOT believe in the Real Presence.

Marriage .. well that’s another arena you might not want to get into .. in Rhode island as we already examined has seen a 71 percent plummet in Catholic marriages since your looney tunes theology took the lead.

But not to worry .. in the are of vocations – oh wait – nothing to crow about their either. A 75 percent OR GREATER drop in priestly vocations in the past 40 plus years.

How about women religious – man, try again! When they aren’t casting spells and teaching tai chi classes, or being investigated by the Vatican, they are growing very old very fast and watching their numbers shrivel up by – oh about 75 percent in the last 40 years.

That “shrinking by 75 percent” theme seems to be kind of a recurring consistent marker
dontcha think.

So there you have it dissident crowd. From the sacraments .. to the liturgy .. to
education .. to vocations .. to name any area you want .. the result of you theological insanity is a shrinking shriveling aging Church that is 75% smaller than what it was when you took control.

And when we actually look at the future .. just exactly what do you think is gonna be left after your wrecking ball has stopped swinging? With specific regard to weddings .. the pathetic failure to teach the truth has encouraged a mind-numbing number of Catholic brides to simply walk away from Church weddings.

Heck .. you might as well suggest that the wedding musicians play There Goes the
Bride .. all Dressed in Black .. in celebration of all you’ve accomplished.

75 per cent .. remember that number. That’s the damage you have done to the faith. A
church that is 75 LESS faithful than when you took charge.

BTW – this is a clarion call to the 25% who are still somewhat faithful. It’s up to you to
clean up their mess .. give them a nice funeral .. and go about repairing their decades
worth of damage.

Thanks progressives. Thanks liberal Catholics. At least those of us left standing know
what needs to be done. Any clerics who’d like to help .. we’re all here willing and able
just as soon as we all finish our Lenten obligation of giving up incandescent light bulbs
plastic bags .. like all the Church liberals want us to do.

GOD Love you. I’m Michael Voris.

Abomination of Desolation

Thursday, March 24th, 2011

Dr. Mark Miravalle discusses the role of Mary in the end times prophecies of the book of Revelation and the Old Testament. He discusses the purpose of prophecy, Moses and Elijah and the three and a half years of chastisement and Mary as the tabernacle and how this relates to the Abomination of Desolation mentioned in Dan 12. Father Connell Answers Moral Questions

The Freezing of Sacred Species

Question: Chemists tell us that when wine freezes, a chemical change takes place. If that is true, it would seem that in the event that the consecrated species of wine freeze, the Real Presence ceases. If, then, an accident of this nature occurs when a priest is celebrating Mass, should he consider that Our Lord is no longer present under the frozen species and accordingly consecrate more wine or perhaps re-consecrate the contents of the chalice after the species have been thawed out?

Answer: The rubrics of the Missal are quite explicit on this matter: “If in the winter the Blood is frozen in the chalice, the chalice shall be wrapped in heated cloths; if that would not avail, it shall be placed in hot water near the altar, provided the water does not get into the chalice, until it thaws out” (De Defectibus, X, 11). Evidently the Church is convinced that the Real Presence abides even in the frozen species, since the Missal refers to them as “the Blood” and there is no provision made for a repetition of the consecration of the wine after the species have been thawed out.

To the difficulty adduced by the questioner, based on the findings of chemistry, the answer is that Our Lord instituted the sacraments in such wise that the norms for judging the requirements for their validity are to be sought in the judgment of the ordinary person rather than in the technical principles of science. Now, when wine is frozen, the ordinary person still refers to it as wine and considers that it has undergone no substantial change. Applying this concept to the Holy Eucharist, we conclude that, whatever the chemists may say, the freezing of the consecrated species is not to be regarded as a substantial change, and accordingly that it does not cause the cessation of the Real Presence. For this reason, when the species have been thawed out, the priest is to continue the Mass without consecrating a new quanity of wine or re-consecrating what was consecrated previously.

global earthquake is rising

Matthew 24:7
For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be pestilences, and famines, and earthquakes in places:

Mark 13:8
For nation shall rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and famines. These things are the beginning of sorrows.

Luke 21:11
And there shall be great earthquakes in divers places, and pestilences, and famines, and terrors from heaven; and there shall be great signs.

Traditional Catholic Monks of Papa Stronsay, Scotland

Monday, March 21st, 2011

Excerpt from a documentary series featuring the Transalpine Redemptorist monks of Papa Stronsay, Scotland – a congregation of traditionalist Catholic Fathers and Brothers of both Eastern and Western Rite from all over the world. The documentary was filmed in September 2003 and originally aired on Channel 4 (UK) in 2004.

The congregation was founded in 1988 by Fr Michael Mary and Fr Anthony Mary on the advice of Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre. Their aim was to found a new Redemptorist congregation which observed the original Rule of Saint Alphonsus and ignored the reforms adopted by modern Redemptorists following the Second Vatican Council.

The congregation moved from the Isle of Sheppy in Kent, England, to Papa Stronsay in 1999. The island was considered ideal because of its seclusion from the world and ancient connection with the monastic tradition. As well as producing their own newspaper, the monks raise their own cattle and sheep and they produce most of their own food.

Aliens Or demonic spirits ?

Monday, March 21st, 2011

More evidence that aliens are in fact demons.
I am convinced that the aliens are demons, think about it extra-dimensional beings could be from the hell dimension and when Jesus comes back and the believers go up the antichrist could say, they where just aliens and not to worry and many will believe him.
Satan is the ultimate deceiver, and he’ll continue to lie to people until the very end of his existence, and until that day, people will buy his lies, even if they are in the midst of Gods miracles. People are so blinded that God could appear in front of them, and people would still deny.
I can confirm that crop circles are made by demons. Some demons I interacted with used the dragonfly symbol. The Dragonfly crop circle was made and shown to me, while I was passing through Wiltshire in 2009. Fallen angels possess vast and ancient knowledge, but it is tragically devoid of the LOVE that makes us human. They forfieted that love when they chose to turn away from GOD.

the world is everything- God, nothing!

Sunday, March 20th, 2011

If people would do for God what they do for the world, my dear people, what a great number of Christians would go to Heaven! But if you, dear children, had to pass three or four hours praying in a church, as you pass them at a dance or in a cabaret, how heavily the time would press upon you! If you had to go to a great many different places in order to hear a sermon, as you go for your pastimes or to satisfy your avarice and greed, what pretexts there would be, and how many detours would be taken to avoid going at all. But nothing is too much trouble when done for the world. What is more, people are not afraid of losing either God or their souls or Heaven. With what good reason did Jesus Christ, my dear people, say that the children of this world are more zealous in serving their master, the world, than the children of light are in serving theirs, who is God. To our shame, we must admit that people fear neither expense, nor even going into debt, when it is a matter of satisfying their pleasures, but if some poor person asks them for help, they have nothing at all. This is true of so many: they have everything for the world and nothing at all for God because to them, the world is everything and God is nothing.

The Shroud Of Turin – Proof Of God

Saturday, March 12th, 2011

The burial cloth of Jesus Christ is the single, most sacred relic in the world today. Given the astounding revelations made during recent Scientific investigations, it would appear increasingly likely that the authenticity of the holy shroud, is well beyond any reasonable contention.

St. Cyril against Nestorius, controversy of persons and hypostases

St. Cyril’s Anathematism against Nestorius

4. If anyone takes the words found in the writings of the Gospels and of the apostles, whether they are said of Christ by the saints or of Christ by himself, and distributes them between two persons or hypostases, attributing some of them as to a man, properly understood in contrast to the Word of God, and the rest to the Word of God the Father exclusively, on the grounds that they are proper to God alone: let him be anathema.

8. If anyone dares to say that the man assumed ought to be co-adored with God the Word, and co-glorified and co-named God, as one person in another (for this is the interpretation that the constant addition of co- will lead to); and does not, rather, adore Emmanuel with one adoration and apply to him one doxology, inasmuch as the Word was made flesh (see John 1:14): let him be anathema.

The Council of Chalcedon, 451

In addition to accepting Leo’s Tome, the Council of Chalcedon, the fourth ecumenical council, also issued, at the emperor’s insistence, a declaration of faith. It embodied the traditional doctrine in considerable detail and in Leo’s terminology. The supreme importance of the Council of Chalcedon in the development of Christology is its crystallization of an unambiguous terminology for expressing the truths of the Incarnation (see 496-501).

Following the holy Fathers, therefore, we all with one accord teach the profession of faith in the one identical Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. We declare that he is perfect both in his divinity and in his humanity, truly God and truly man composed of body and rational soul; that he is consubstantial with the Father in his divinity, consubstantial with us in his humanity, like us in every respect except for sin (see Heb. 4:15). We declare that in his divinity he was begotten in this last age of Mary the Virgin, the Mother of God, for us and for our salvation. We declare that the one selfsame Christ, only-begotten Son and Lord, must be acknowledged in two natures without any commingling or change or division or separation; that the distinction between the natures is in no way removed by their union but rather that the specific character of each nature is preserved and they are united in one person and one hypostasis. We declare that he is not a split or divided into two persons, but that there is one selfsame only-begotten Son, God the Word, the Lord Jesus Christ. This the prophets have taught about him from the beginning; this Jesus Christ himself taught us; this the creed of the Fathers has handed down to us (see 2,3).

As these truths, therefore, have been formulated with all possible accuracy and care, the holy, ecumenical council has ordained that no one may bring forward or put into writing or devise or entertain or teach to others any other faith.
